Windsurfers is a handmade painting on Canson paper by Bern Foster showcases a serene and vibrant tropical seascape, meticulously capturing the essence of coastal paradise. Dominated by a striking cobalt blue sky, the composition masterfully balances between the vast expanse of the sea and the towering, billowing clouds that create a stunning background.
These clouds, fluffy and almost tangible, contribute a majestic sense of depth and dimension, elevating the overall visual impact. Prominently featured in the foreground is a lone palm tree, confidently standing tall and slightly bent, its fronds swaying gently in the breeze. This palm tree serves as a focal point, its vibrant green contrasting sharply against the intense blue of the sky and the tranquil aqua of the ocean, adding a touch of verdant life to the composition.
The ocean itself is a mesmerizing array of subtle blues and whites, expertly rendered to convey the motion and shimmer of sunlight on the water. The waves are depicted with pristine precision, their rhythmic ebb and flow imparting a dynamic yet calming energy to the scene. In the distance, colorful sailboats dot the horizon, their sails catching the wind and adding pops of reds, yellows, and oranges that inject vitality and motion into the tranquil seascape.
An admirable aspect of this artwork is the artist's ability to juxtapose stillness and motion within the same frame. The robust, immovable presence of the palm tree and the static nature of the clouds contrast beautifully with the fluid waves and lively sailboats, creating an engaging visual narrative. Stylistically, the piece employs vivid color contrasts and a sharp, crisp technique that highlights each element with precision and clarity.
This meticulous attention to detail and the harmonious palette ensure that the artwork is not only visually appealing but also evocative, capturing the idyllic allure and breezy, carefree spirit of a tropical getaway.

A propos de Bern Foster
Hailing from the beaches of the south of Spain, Bern Foster, is a multi-disciplinary international illustrator recognized for his retro and vibrant aesthetic.
His art immediately get you to nostalgia, using aesthetics as his greatest strength and the seductive allure of capitalism as a source of inspiration. Bern has always thought that it was his childhood memories, such as TV ads from late 80’s, movies, and music that inspired him to use his style and aesthetic.
“Sometimes, I am listening music which inspires me to think about my next illustration, or I am painting an illustration that makes me think about an specific song, it’s like if my art and music are connected to each other, like in a TV ad”, says Bern.
Despite being passionate about illustration, Bern started working as a Design engineer in 2012, and a year later he decided to finance his art with the money he earned as an engineer, until the hobby of illustrator became a real profession.
He never attended a single art class, as he learned with his own discipline, adopting techniques and influences from other illustrators such as Bob Peak, Masao Saito, Hajime Sorayama, Hiroshi Nagai, or Eizin Suzuki.
He made his first commissions between 2013 and 2015, for small private clients and independent fashion brands, also album covers and promotional content for social media. However, was Bern’s personal portfolio what attracted potential clients in the fashion and music industry, as he always painted for himself in his spare time when he wasn’t working for a client.
Was through his personal projects that he experimented with different techniques until he found his own style.
In 2019, Bern started working for the fashion industry, collaborating with exclusive brands such as Nude Project, Reina Olga Beachwear, or Filippa K. Selected clients: Nude Project, Warner Records, Reina Olga Beachwear, Eglaf, Dunne Brand, TWRP Band, Mayol Jewelry, Filippa K, Beast in Black, Tayrell Music, CRMEN fashion book Magazine, ASBS Magazine, Rebelión Galactica Magazine, Reflective Desire Studio, Avant Garde Records, Beast in Black Band, Northstar Studios, Davinci´s Dream.
